A high ranking Vatican official, a monsignor, was caught on hidden camera, in a sting, making advances to a young man. He claims to have been pretending to be gay, doing Christ's work as a psychoanalyst. Some weeks earlier, the same priest had also asserted that gay sex was not sinful during a television program on gay priests. It was suppose to be anonymous, but he got caught.
In the last few month alone, among others, the news covered 5 scandals involving 4 clerics. In addition to the above, a Filipino priest is about to go to trial, accused of stealing $600,000 of parish donations. There was another one in Davao, a Christian missionary, who took pornographic pictures of orphans. They were never caught by Filipino authorities, but by the Americans.
