A Filipino-American West Point graduate called on his fellow "mestizos" (Filipinos of mixed blood) around the world to return and serve their homeland.
"I just hope that this act, by my actions, joining the AFP, [being of] service to the nation, will help inspire other mestizos out there around the world because I know there are millions of us out there," Feliciano said.
I do not even understand why someone would want to be a second class citizen of another country when one has a country as beautiful and great as the Philippines.
The football playing Younghusband brothers James and Phil are currently the toast of the tiny football community in the Philippines.
Both brothers are simple lads with simple dreams and only one passion and mission - to make football popular in the Philippines.
"I love it here. Me and my brother will work hard to make football popular in this country. We will be staying here longer and play for the national team longer,'' said the older James.
They have not yet succeeded in their mission but they are making strides and they are being noticed. Just look at the billboards in Manila and some national papers and magazines, their handsome faces are regularly spread on them.
