Do you approve of Trillanes' Manila Pen caper?

We just saw the rogue-military-trapo-clerico-leftist (Lim and Trillanes, Guingona, CBCP bishops, Nemenzo, Ocampo, Hombrebueno, Principe(?)...) alliance's latest attempt to oust PGMA and to establish a "revolutionary" government. Do you approve of it?

Of course not. We are country of laws. The constitution provides for a presidential election only once every 6 years. EVERYONE should abide by it.

Even assuming there is a problem with Arroyo, dapat maghintay sila sa 2010.

I know many people who did not vote for GMA. But I only know of two persons who approve of it! One is a trapo with connections to the Trillanes group and the other, a priest. But then I don't know any leftists nor soldiers, which, I believe, is the mass base of the group. GMA is the President of the Philippines and everyone should respect her authority.

Mahina at bobo sila.

What the rebels are doing is bad for the Filipino economy. Arroyo has done an excellent job of it, too. And these people who think they can run the Philippines better than her... hindi naman sila marunong magpatakbo sa ekonomiya... ang pinakamalaki nating problema. Mga walang hiya!

Ano naman ang prueba mo diyan? Garci tape?

There are a lot of serious problems under President Arroyo's dispensation and government bureaucracy. But I do not approve of the means used by Trillanes and his friends to institute change in the government. It is unconsitutional and calls for violence. Further, I do not believe that replacing President Arroyo with Trillanes' leftist-priests-trapo-military group is the solution to it.

Hang Trillanes, Lim,... The geriatric Padre Damasos and the wannabe, Guingona, send them to muslim middle to serve an imam for the rest of their lives! And have them all pay for the damage to the hotel, employees' lost pay, and other losses businesses and the economy suffered.

Everyone suffered so much under martial law and paid a high price to get out freedom back. And we are suppose to surrender it to Trillanes, Guingona and the bishops on a silver platter? You have to be bribed with some power-sharing deal or plain crazy to approve of the attempted coup.

That exercise was pointless and was doomed to fail. None of those guys run for election. There is only one president and that is PGMA. And she is the best person to run the country.

I liked Roco more than PGMA. But I'm glad he backed out and I ended up voting for PGMA. And I'm glad I did. She's done excellent work with the economy. And she and her guys did a fantastic work in Manila Pen.

I agree. Trillanes means martial law. We've already seen that before. Whatever problems there may be with the current adminstration, Trillanes is not the solution. Hell, these guys don't even have any vision. Except to grab power from GMA.

It would have been hilarious had they not exposed people and our soldiers to danger. And Guingona and Nemenzo, shame on you! Shame on you! As to the Padre Damasos- kapal mukha talaga ang mga bakla na iyan!

To think that the plan of these guys was to set up some kind of Singaporean-style economy and government is preposterous. Singapore is an ASEAN leader in capitalism, modernization and trade globalization. Quite the opposite of what the rebel components stand for, especially the leftists-communists and the reactionary church.

I don't approve. It is equivalent to mob rule of a few organized groups - pretty much the same groups who ousted Erap. They ignore the rights of other Filipinos to choose who is to be president via elections. It is unconstitutional.

UPDATE - {{View article here: Former Philippine MP arrested in new coup plot: police}}

This is as bizarre as that Manila Pen Comedia. All these old men with loony ideas that keep popping up. Are they related? I think the govt should check out that angle.

If the accusations prove true, PGMA and Co. may have to open a rebel loony bin or a jail for the aged soon. At the rate our geriatric generals and aged trapos passed over by EDSA1 and martial law, respectively, refuse to retire and continue trying to grab power by force.

The comment above is not a judgment on those accused though. That is for a judge to do and still needs to be proven.

MANILA (AFP) — Soaring rice and oil prices could pose a threat to Philippine national security, particularly through communist rebel efforts to incite riots, a senior military official warned on Friday.

Adaza's been going around for over 2 years now trying to drum up support for the forcible ouster of PGMA. That's no secret. Many are direct witness to it, including apparently a few in media who appear to be echoing him or at least some parts of the spin, although some may be hearing it from 3rd parties.

Adaza appears to be involved in the Manila Pen incident and the new power grab plot discovered only a few days ago through the complaint by Attorney Fortun and the client he shared with Adaza. He seems to be the link between the trapos and the Trillanes group, and the UP circle with leftist contacts, including the CPP.

The initial plan was to use Erap in the power grab, but that fizzled with the pardon. So the Manila Pen thing happened instead. After that fiasco, the group switched tactics again. The scuttlebutt was that the rice problem was going to be used to incite protests and riots to justify a military armed rebellion against PGMA. The plan is very similar to the previous ones. It explains why Principe, a high ranking CPP member and former UP student, was in town at that critical moment, allegedly billeted by trapos in the opposition. Together with rogues soldiers, the CPP was to be an instrument in creating fear and mayhem, including the infiltration of legitimate protests to provoke violence.

This group has one and only one goal - putting themselves in power by establishing a military junta. Essentially, martial law. If they succeed, you can forget elections in 2010. It will not happen.

Old men are pulling the strings here, I think. Mainly, the trapos who have little chance of ever being elected president or bypassed by Marcos and martial law together with the then young aspiring overly-ambitious military men who lost out with EDSA1 and the restoration of democracy. There also appears to be a strong UP connection. As well as leftist and CPP components.

There are a couple or so retired generals behind the scenes, too. Fortunately, judging from the Manila Pen fiasco, they lack support and are unlikely to succeed. But I think it is best that the government stay vigilant, just in case.

nope. i do not think this is a gimmick. adaza has a big mouth. he brags about it.

i heard about manila pen plot long before it happened. i heard about plot to exploit the issue of soaring prices over 4 months ago na. always coming from adaza daw. i thought nobody would take him seriously so i did not post warning earlier. but keep seeing the things he say come true. including general timeline.

the story i heard was similar to that of cka above. Except there was no mention of cpp/npa. instead adaza made insinuations of anarchy and civil unrest to justify military intervention. i thought that meant they intended to use students and others in legitimate protests. but the cpp/npa participation angle seems logical and believable with the unlikely to be coincidental appearance and arrest of principe about the time of the last coup. and infiltrating legitimate protests and inciting and provoking violence within the ranks was a joma tactic in sixties. adaza also has very close ties with UP leftists/communists leaders who are invariably around his age and older with contact to cpp/npa and other leftist organizations. this is a thing with a few old men in UP for some reason. but the youth may be used as unwitting pawns.

the plot is ridiculous and unlikely to suceed, but the plotters are serious about it. people may get hurt. this group is very determined and has no compunction re the use of violence. they are desperate because 2010 is getting closer. the next president is likely to be much stronger and more popular than GMA. they are getting old and GMA may be their last chance.

contrary to what some media and trapo friends of his have been saying, adaza is a rightist. what he was in the 70s and 80s was anti-marcos, NOT anti-martial law per se.

extortion attempt to finance a coup is believable. adaza likes shortcuts. fast rise to power with coup. extortion fast money. consistent. makes sense. but ultimate goal is power. adaza crazy for it and obsessed in grabbing power through coup. he wants to be THE top guy.

This news article is not quite accurate. The plot was long there. But this is how it was discovered. Click here.

Tips to the gov't are OK. But let's not forget that the gov't still has to prove its case against Adaza. Kailangan pa rin patunayan ng gobyerno na guilty siya and the presumption of innocence of an accused applies to him until then.

Forget Singapore! No offense to Singaporeans, but why should we want to be like them. Sure their government and society have certain admirable qualities. But the price - the loss of freedom - is too steep, if you ask me. Let us fix our problems a different way. Military rule is not an acceptable solution.
