I prefer a parliamentary form of government where the head of the government is the prime minister, chosen, of course, by the members of parliament. The presidential system, with the president being chosen directly by all Filipinos, with each one having equal weight in the election, has become a problem in this age of celebrity. Especially in a country where so many people are uneducated and ignorant, confusing presidential elections with popularity contests. And where irresponsible, unpatriotic politicians and demagogues, obsessed with attaining power, prop up actors, star athletes, etc.

No, it's not undemocratic. Because the members of parliament are elected directly by the people. It is the way it is done in the UK, and there is some parallel in the US, with the electoral congress and its role in the US presidential elections.
Para lang silang Congress electing a speaker. That would go a long way in getting rid of celebrities and and the like being voted in as presidents.
A parliamentary system is actually more democratic in a sense. Because the head of government does not need to spend the kind of money it takes to run a presidential campaign. The prime minister comes from the parliament. Therefore, para lang siyang congressman na napiling Speaker of the House.
